The cork bench

We are a small workshop that lasts clogs, mules, slides and sandals over one moulded cork footbed. Everything on this site sits on that same bed, so a pair you liked three years ago still feels like the pair you buy today.

One footbed, a handful of lasts

The catalogue holds 38 pairs across 9 lasts, and every one of them is built over the same pressed cork bed with a deep heel cup and a raised contour under the arch. What changes from shelf to shelf is the toe, the upper and the width of the last, never the shape underfoot. That is a deliberate limit. A workshop that redraws the bed for every new model cannot tell you how a pair will feel, because it does not know either.

We describe, we do not sell

This is a catalogue, not a till. We write up the shapes, photograph them, sort them onto shelves and explain what a closed toe changes about a wet morning. When you decide on a pair, the button hands you over to our retail partner, who takes the payment, holds the stock and looks after delivery and anything that comes back. We never see your card, your address or your order.

Why we write it down

Most shoe pages describe a colour and stop. Ours try to say what the material asks of you: a suede nap wants a dry brush and nothing else, an oiled leather wants the oil worked back in when it dulls, a vegan upper shrugs off a splash. If you know that before the box arrives, the pair lasts longer and you are less likely to send it back.

Every pair on this site is sold through our retail partner, who sets the price and handles payment, delivery and anything that comes back.
