How this pair is put together

Caramel vegan material

The distressed caramel brown upper wipes clean with a damp cloth and warm water. We finish the edges with contrast thread that follows the curved line of the rounded toe.

Layered cork base

Natural cork forms the core of the footbed, shaped with a cupped heel and a firm arch curve. We added a layer of memory foam beneath the lining to soften each step.

Vamp strap adjustment

A broad strap crosses the instep with an antiqued copper-tone buckle. The pin fastens through punched holes so you can tighten or slacken the fit over high arches.

Patterned walking tread

A lightweight synthetic sole sits bonded beneath the cork foundation. The shallow patterned tread grips flat floors and pavement while keeping the whole shoe light on the foot.

What we cut and last

Distressed caramel vegan leather brings a warm, aged brown tone to this closed-toe mule. We lasted the shape over a cork footbed layered with memory foam, leaving the back open for easy stepping. A metal pin buckle secures the instep strap over the rounded vamp.

Caring for this upper

  • Vegan: Wipe with a damp cloth, the surface shrugs off splashes.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

Why a mule stays on the foot

A backless mule leaves the counter off entirely.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
