How this pair is put together

Distressed vegan upper

The synthetic upper mimics oiled hide in a neutral taupe shade that wipes clean with a damp cloth. Contrast thread secures the edge where the vamp joins the sole.

Cushioned cork base

Our cork footbed incorporates a layer of foam beneath the lining. It holds a molded arch contour and a deep heel cup that settles to your foot shape over time.

Instep strap closure

A single band crosses the instep to regulate slack across the bridge of the foot. The metal buckle fastens through punched eyelets to anchor the backless cut.

Patterned walking tread

A lightweight synthetic outsole runs the full length of the base with a shallow tread pattern. It protects the cork rim from direct contact with hard ground.

What we cut and last

Taupe vegan leather gives this closed-toe clog a muted grey-brown tone with a subtle distressed surface. We lasted it on our contoured cork footbed, pairing the rounded toe box with contrast stitching along the rim. An antique-toned copper buckle tightens across the instep for a steady hold.

Caring for this upper

  • Vegan: Wipe with a damp cloth, the surface shrugs off splashes.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Why a mule stays on the foot

A backless mule leaves the counter off entirely.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
