How this pair is put together

Dark nap leather

The upper is genuine suede dyed to a deep coffee tone. Use a dry brass or nylon brush along the nap to lift dust and keep the surface clean.

Antiqued pin hardware

A single leather strap threads through a worn-finish metal buckle. You can shift the pin through several notches to tighten the fit over high insteps.

Cupped cork platform

Natural cork forms the core underfoot, moulded with a hollowed heel seat and a raised curve beneath the arch. The surface settles to your footprint as you walk.

Grooved bottom layer

A dense, lightweight sole sits under the cork base to take the pavement. Shallow channels cut across the tread help the shoe flex naturally with every stride.

What we cut and last

Deep brown suede gives this round toe clog a warm, grounded look. We build the upper over our traditional cork footbed, letting the natural base yield to the foot over time. A single strap crosses the vamp with an antiqued pin buckle to set the hold.

Caring for this upper

  • Suede: Brush dry with a bristle block, never wet the nap.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Caring for four uppers and cork

We build our footwear on a single moulded cork footbed across four distinct upper materials.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
