How this pair is put together

Oiled gold bronze finish

The broad straps carry a distinct metallic bronze tone with an oiled surface. It shows subtle variation across the grain and wipes clean with a damp cloth followed by a dry cloth.

Dual metal prongs

Each strap secures with its own metal pin buckle. You can set the lower strap over the forefoot and adjust the instep strap separately to hold the foot firmly back against the heel cup.

Cork base contours

We shape the footbed from natural cork composite with a rounded heel well and a raised contour along the arch. The open toe cut leaves ample room across the front as the foot moves.

Textured walking sole

Under the cork, a lightweight grooved outsole provides grip on dry pavement and hard floors. The perimeter stitching binds the materials together for steady everyday use.

What we cut and last

We built this open slide on our wider men last, pairing an oiled upper in gold bronze with two broad straps. The cork core is moulded with a deep heel cup and raised arch contour. Over weeks of wear, the footbed softens and takes the imprint of your stride.

Caring for this upper

  • Oiled leather: Wipe clean, then work the oil back in when it dulls.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
