How this pair is put together

Brown oiled upper

The oiled finish gives the brown straps a supple, waxy texture that develops character as it flexes. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and treat with leather cream to maintain the deep color.

Shaped heel cup

We sunk the heel cup deep into the cork base to hold the back of the foot in position. A raised rim runs around the perimeter, keeping the foot planted as you walk.

Twin prong hardware

Each strap carries a metal pin buckle that shifts several notches tighter or looser. This lets you set a separate tension across the toes and higher up over the instep.

Grooved bottom sole

Under the cork, we glued a lightweight synthetic sole cut with shallow ridges. The flat profile and textured tread offer steady contact against tarmac, tile floors, and wood decking.

What we cut and last

A wide-last slide built with two broad straps across the instep. We shaped the brown oiled upper to take daily wear, resting the foot directly on a moulded cork base with a cupped heel. Open at the front to let air move through on warm days.

Caring for this upper

  • Oiled leather: Wipe clean, then work the oil back in when it dulls.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
