How this pair is put together

Oiled rust leather upper

The thick oiled finish gives this rich brown tone a rugged surface that develops character with daily wear. Wipe dirt away with a damp cloth and apply leather balm when the straps dry out.

Dual pin buckles

Each strap fastens with its own metal prong buckle. You can loosen the instep band or tighten the lower strap independently to secure the slide across different foot widths.

Cupped cork base

Our cork platform features a deep heel pocket, a raised curve along the inner arch, and a gentle ridge beneath the toes. The natural material gradually compresses and softens as you walk.

Open slide pattern

The open toe and backless cut keep air moving across the foot. Underneath, a lightweight synthetic outsole with ribbed channels provides traction on flat ground and pavement.

What we cut and last

Rust brown oiled straps cross the top of this open slide, lasted broad for a roomier fit. We set the twin bands over a cupped cork base that settles to your footprint over time. Two metal pin buckles adjust across the instep and ball of the foot.

Caring for this upper

  • Oiled leather: Wipe clean, then work the oil back in when it dulls.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
