How this pair is put together

Smooth black straps

We cut the dual straps from smooth black synthetic material that wipes clean with a damp cloth. The dark tone holds its depth through daily wear and keeps dirt from showing along the edges.

Contoured cork footbed

Our cork footbed is moulded with a raised arch contour, a cupped heel, and a toe grip ridge. The cork core softens and takes the distinct shape of your tread as the weeks pass.

Dual adjustable buckles

Two metal pin buckles give you independent adjustment across the instep and the ball of the foot. You can notch one strap looser for a higher instep without loosening the front band.

Patterned walking outsole

A lightweight EVA outsole sits under the cork base with a patterned tread cut into the bottom. It provides grip on stone paths, wood floors, and dry pavement while keeping the whole build light.

What we cut and last

Smooth black straps cross the foot with two independent buckles, letting you set each band where you need it. We build them on our contoured cork footbed with a deep heel cup and an open toe. The black finish stays plain and clean over bare skin or thick socks.

Caring for this upper

  • Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
