How this pair is put together

Stone finish straps

The light grey tone is dyed through smooth material that wipes clean with a damp cloth. We edge-stitch both bands so they hold their shape across the instep.

Independent prong adjustment

Each strap pulls through its own metal frame with five punched holes. You can set the lower band slack for forefoot spread and tighten the top strap over the bridge.

Recessed heel pocket

The back of the footbed drops into a round hollow bordered by a raised rim. It keeps the foot seated square over the cork core as you step.

Flexible base layer

Under the natural cork core sits a lightweight synthetic bottom scored with directional lines. The pattern provides grip across flat ground and bends easily at the ball.

What we cut and last

Smooth stone straps cross the bridge on our open slide last. We press the natural cork beneath a brushed lining, shaping a raised contour under the arch and rimming the heel. Two wide bands hold firm against the foot without crowding the toes.

Caring for this upper

  • Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
