How this pair is put together

Smooth taupe straps

The matte taupe straps wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. The neutral grey-brown tone stays easy to maintain across dry summer paths.

Arch contour moulding

We shape the cork footbed with a steady rise along the inner edge. It cradles the heel cup deep and settles under the foot as the cork flexes.

Two prong adjusters

A pair of buckles across the instep allows each strap to be tightened or loosened on its own. The fit stays close whether worn bare or with socks.

Lightweight base grip

Under the cork base, the lightweight outsole carries a scored pattern that grips dry pavement and stone. It keeps the open slide light on foot.

What we cut and last

Taupe straps sit across the foot on an open toe last. We build these on our contoured cork footbed, which softens and takes the shape of the foot with steady wear. Two buckled straps hold the slide secure without a backstrap.

Caring for this upper

  • Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
