How this pair is put together

Brushed suede upper

The black suede is soft to the touch with a fine, dense nap. Use a dry brass or nylon brush to lift grit from the surface and restore the texture after regular wear.

Memory foam insert

A layer of memory foam sits directly beneath the footbed lining on top of the cork. It softens the initial contact underfoot while the cork structure beneath holds its contour over time.

Instep pin closure

The strap across the bridge threads through a sturdy metal buckle with multiple punch holes. Tightening or loosening the prong changes how snugly the backless upper rests against your foot.

Moulded walking base

We set the cork base onto a lightweight EVA bottom layer scored with shallow channels. It bends easily with your step and stays quiet on hard floors.

What we cut and last

Black suede gives this closed-toe clog a clean, quiet look across the vamp. We lasted the upper over our contoured cork footbed, adding a layer of memory foam under the lining so the step feels cushioned from the first walk. A metal pin buckle tightens across the instep to seat your heel into the cup.

Caring for this upper

  • Suede: Brush dry with a bristle block, never wet the nap.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Caring for four uppers and cork

We build our footwear on a single moulded cork footbed across four distinct upper materials.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
