How this pair is put together

Ribbed black suede

We cut the closed-toe shell from thick genuine suede pressed with a corduroy texture in deep black. The nap stays soft, and you can brush away light scuffs with a dry brass or nylon suede brush.

Arch and heel contour

The footbed is shaped from natural cork and lined with suede. It holds a deep cup at the rear and a steady curve beneath the arch, gradually compressing to your footprint with daily wear.

Metal bridge closure

A single antiqued buckle sits across the instep strap. You can tighten or loosen the prong along punched holes to secure the backless upper over bare skin or thick socks.

Thickened tread base

Under the cork platform, we attach a dense foam sole finished with a ridged grip pattern. It keeps the clog lightweight underfoot while taking the wear of hard floors and pavement.

What we cut and last

Corduroy texture across genuine suede gives this black closed-toe clog a distinct ribbed feel. We build them on our rounded last with a brass-toned metal buckle over the bridge. The backless cut lets you step right in, while the natural cork footbed takes on the shape of your stride over time.

Caring for this upper

  • Suede: Brush dry with a bristle block, never wet the nap.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Caring for four uppers and cork

We build our footwear on a single moulded cork footbed across four distinct upper materials.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
