How this pair is put together

Mocha nap leather

We use genuine suede in a deep mocha brown that hides dust well. Keep the nap clean with a stiff bristle brush, working with the grain after the shoes dry out.

Foam backed footbed

A thin layer of memory foam sits directly beneath the suede lining. It cushions immediately while the firmer cork base underneath maintains its shape through daily wear.

Vamp prong buckle

The metal buckle across the instep lets you adjust how closely the suede upper hugs your foot. Tighten it a notch for a firmer hold when walking without socks.

Flexible EVA base

We secure the cork core to a lightweight EVA outsole cut with shallow tread grooves. It flexes naturally as you step and keeps the base quiet on hard floors.

What we cut and last

Soft mocha suede wraps over the closed toe on this backless clog. We layer memory foam over the shaped cork core to soften the first step, then finish the vamp with a metal buckle you can tighten or let out. The dark brown tone matches heavy knit socks or bare skin as the footbed warms to your stride.

Caring for this upper

  • Suede: Brush dry with a bristle block, never wet the nap.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Caring for four uppers and cork

We build our footwear on a single moulded cork footbed across four distinct upper materials.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
