How this pair is put together

Stone grey upper

The smooth matte straps come in an understated stone grey that wipes clean with a damp cloth. Two broad bands secure the foot across the vamp and bridge without pinching.

Two pronged fasteners

Each strap carries its own metal buckle with several punch holes. Parents can tighten or loosen either band independently to accommodate broad feet or taller insteps.

Moulded arch contour

The cork base features a distinct curve beneath the arch and a sunken heel cradle. Over time the cork settles under body heat and takes the individual imprint of the foot.

Treaded ground contact

Under the cork runs an EVA sole stamped with a ridged traction pattern. It adds flexible ground contact that stays light when children run on pavement or dry sand.

What we cut and last

Pale stone grey straps cross the foot with an open toe that leaves room for warm days. We lasted this pair small for children, keeping the same moulded cork footbed and dual pin hardware we use across our adult slide line. A light EVA outsole sits underneath to take daily scuffs.

Caring for this upper

  • Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Lasting the cork footbed for children

We build seven pairs in our catalogue on a child's last.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
