How this pair is put together

Double strap adjustment

Both straps across the instep have individual prong buckles with multiple eyelets. You can tighten one strap across the ball of the foot and loosen the other over a higher instep as needed.

Open toe construction

The open front leaves toes free with room to spread across the front of the footbed. A raised ridge sits just beneath the toes to help keep the foot seated.

Taupe smooth upper

The neutral grey-taupe upper wipes clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. The surface resists scuffs from outdoor wear and dries quickly if splashed near water.

EVA ground contact

A lightweight EVA base is bonded directly under the cork foundation. The patterned bottom handles dry pavement, grass, and smooth poolside stones without adding heavy bulk to the shoe.

What we cut and last

Smooth taupe straps cross the foot with two independent buckles for width adjustment. The footbed is moulded cork with a deep heel cup and a raised toe bar for small feet on the move. Underneath, a textured EVA sole takes the ground.

Caring for this upper

  • Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Lasting the cork footbed for children

We build seven pairs in our catalogue on a child's last.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
