How this pair is put together
Gold Bronze oiled straps
The oiled finish gives these straps a subtle metallic luster that changes slightly as the material flexes. Surface marks blend in with regular wear, or buff out with a dry cloth.
Cupped heel cradle
We shape the back of the cork footbed with a distinct rim that holds the heel in place. The foot sits inside the perimeter rather than shifting over the edge as you walk.
Tongue buckle hardware
Two metal pin buckles secure the wide straps over the forefoot and instep. Each buckle adjusts through punched holes to balance volume across high or low arches.
Ground contact tread
Underneath the cork layer, we attach a lightweight synthetic outsole with a grooved bottom profile. It cushions ground contact and protects the cork core from pavement wear.
What we cut and last
Oiled straps in Gold Bronze catch the light with a soft metallic pull-up across the open toe. We lasted this unisex slide on our natural cork footbed, shaping a raised arch and deep heel cup that settle to your step over time. Double pin hardware lets you dial in the instep.
Caring for this upper
- Oiled leather: Wipe clean, then work the oil back in when it dulls.
- Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose
Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue
Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.
How the moulded cork footbed takes shape
Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.
The wider last and buckle adjustment
A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.
Looking for a different foot?
Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
