How this pair is put together

Almond frost finish

The pale, grey-tinted upper has a clean, matte texture that stays smooth through warm days. It resists dust well and cleans with a damp cloth, holding its neutral tone without requiring special balms or oily conditioners.

Arch and heel molding

We shape the footbed with a pronounced arch rise, a deep cup at the heel, and a slight ridge under the toes. The natural cork softens over months of wear, taking a clear impression of your step.

Parallel strap prongs

Each broad strap holds its own metal tongue buckle with multiple punch holes. You can tighten the instep and loosen the front band independently, which keeps the backless last seated securely without pinching the foot.

Dense ground foam

The underside uses a flat layer of flexible synthetic foam with fine wave patterning. It keeps the entire slide lightweight while taking the scrapes of rough asphalt and stone paths without grinding down quickly.

What we cut and last

Two wide, pale grey straps sit across the foot, secured with matching metal prongs over our natural cork base. We lasted this slide flat and open at both ends to keep it light. The smooth upper wipes down quickly, while the footbed settles to your stride as the cork breaks in.

Caring for this upper

  • Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.

Looking for a different foot?

Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
