How this pair is put together
Oliver brown straps
The smooth brown material spans the instep in two wide bands. Wipe the surface clean with a damp cloth to lift dust, then let it dry away from direct heat.
Cork footbed core
The footbed uses natural cork moulded with a raised arch contour and a cupped heel. It yields slightly over time, settling into the shape of your stride as you walk.
Twin prong hardware
Each strap carries its own buckle with multiple punch holes across the bridge. You can set the front strap close to the toes and slacken the instep band as needed.
Underfoot traction layer
Beneath the cork sits a lightweight synthetic sole cut with shallow horizontal channels. It takes the scrape of pavements and keeps the bottom edges clean through daily wear.
What we cut and last
Oliver Brown straps give this open slide a warm, earthy finish across the top of the foot. We built the pair on our cork footbed with a deep heel cup and twin metal prongs to dial in the grip. It wears light on concrete and soft ground alike.
Caring for this upper
- Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
- Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose
Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue
Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.
How the moulded cork footbed takes shape
Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.
The wider last and buckle adjustment
A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.
Looking for a different foot?
Every pair on our shelf shares this footbed. Change the toe, the upper or the last and the rest stays the same.
