How this pair is put together

Oiled leather straps

Two wide bands of black oiled leather cross the vamp. The surface is treated with oil during tanning, so it resists drying out and takes minor surface scuffs that rub smooth with the warmth of your thumb.

Moulded cork core

We press the footbed from natural cork and latex to hold a deep heel cup, subtle toe bar, and curved arch contour. The cork yields slightly as you walk, shaping itself to your tread over time.

Twin buckle adjustment

Each strap carries its own metal tongue buckle with multiple punch holes. This allows you to tighten the lower strap across the toes while leaving the upper band looser over the instep for an easy gait.

Grooved outsole tread

Under the cork, we bond a lightweight synthetic outsole patterned with shallow channels. The compound takes pavement friction well and keeps the sandal flexible from the first step through the day.

What we cut and last

Black oiled leather gives this two-strap slide a dense, matte finish that develops pull-up marks as the straps flex. We last the upper open at the toe over our moulded cork footbed, securing each strap with an individual metal pin buckle. The shape settles under your step with steady wear.

Caring for this upper

  • Oiled leather: Wipe clean, then work the oil back in when it dulls.
  • Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose

Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue

Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.

How the moulded cork footbed takes shape

Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.

The wider last and buckle adjustment

A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.
