How this pair is put together
Navy smooth straps
We cut the upper straps from smooth synthetic material in a deep navy tone. The surface resists dust and cleans with a damp cloth. Both straps run wide across the foot to keep the slide steady.
Moulded cork base
The footbed combines natural cork and cushioning under a soft top layer. Over months of wear, cork yields slightly to the contours of your sole. The rim stays raised around the edge.
Adjustable metal buckles
Two prongs secure into punched holes along each navy strap. You can widen the fit over a high instep or tighten the front strap for a narrower forefoot. The hardware sits flat against the smooth finish.
Treaded outsole
Underneath the cork layer, we attach a lightweight synthetic outsole with a grooved tread pattern. The cut remains flat from heel to toe, giving a firm surface for pavement and floors.
What we cut and last
We built these open slides on our classic cork footbed, shaping the base with a defined heel cup and a raised arch contour. The dark navy upper has a smooth finish that wipes down easily. Dual metal buckles let you alter the grip across both the instep and the forefoot.
Caring for this upper
- Smooth leather: Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry away from heat.
- Give the cork footbed a week of short wear so it takes the imprint of your heel.

Reading before you choose
Closed toe or open toe across the catalogue
Every shoe we build begins with the same moulded cork footbed, but the first choice at the bench is the front of the upper.
How the moulded cork footbed takes shape
Our workshop builds every shoe on one moulded cork footbed across the catalogue.
The wider last and buckle adjustment
A shoe takes its internal volume and width directly from the solid form we build it over.
